Catching a Break

In 10-ball, the focus is on smashing the rack.

Unlike its rotation brother 9-ball, the unpredictability in 10-ball demands a more forceful break, with players seeking to send the balls in a frenzied search for pockets in which to hide. For former world champion Albin Ouschan of Austria, a direct hit on the 1 ball sends both the cue ball and 1 airborne, while the remainder of the rack runs for cover. Generating sufficient power requires Ouschan to launch his body into the break, always remembering to point his toe on the follow through!
